SuperTech is a state and national competition for full-time professional heavy-duty truck technicians. The first round of the Missouri competition is an ASE-style written test. The 20 highest scorers on the written test advance to the finals. The finals are a hands-on challenge with multiple skills stations.Typical stations include electrical system diagnostics, foundation brakes, tire failure/wear analysis, service information, and HVAC to name a few. The stations are selected to present equally challenging problems to both fleet maintenance and service shop pros.
The Missouri winner is elibible to compete on the national level. The Technology and Maintenance Council of the American Trucking Associations will host the National SuperTech competition in Raleigh, North Carolina, September 19 – 22, 2016. The national event includes a Technician Training Fair where the contestants can earn bonus points that count toward their preliminary score. The winner. representing the state of Missouri, will automatically advance to the hand-on round of competition in the finals.
The national winner wins a trip for two to the Daytona 500 along with a prize package totaling more than $10,000.
Honors one person from a MoTA member trucking company for their professional performance in the pursuit of company and industry truck maintenance. This winner is honored at the MoTA Annual Safety Awards Luncheon.
